The 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan debuts with a refresh that brings its styling in line with the recently updated S-Class. A more assertive front end and revised lighting designs define the changes. The grille is larger than before and now surrounded by black trim that connects to the headlights, while the three-pointed star emblem appears in both headlights and taillights.
Styling updates and new features
The front end adopts a new look, with revised headlights connected to the black trim surrounding the grille. The grille stretches lower into the bumper and is outlined in chrome, with an illuminated badge at its center. An LED strip encircles the grille just inside the chrome trim.
At night, the sedan projects the Mercedes-Benz logo onto the ground through puddle lamps on the side mirrors. LED projectors in the side sills cast a custom pattern on the pavement. The update also brings a new 18-inch wheel design, two additional 19-inch AMG wheel options, and two fresh paint colors: Miami Silver Metallic and Moody Sky Grey Metallic.

The AMG Line Plus package includes a sportier appearance with sports seats featuring red contrast stitching and matching seatbelts.
Interior and tech upgrades
The cabin remains mostly the same, though the steering wheel now has a physical volume scroller. The 11.9-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster return, running an updated MB.OS operating system that supports over-the-air software updates.
The biggest change is the AI-powered virtual assistant. Mercedes states it can hold complex conversations and remember context from earlier interactions. Using ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini, the assistant suggests music or podcasts based on conversation cues and identifies songs by humming or partial lyrics.
The optional Burmester surround sound system now includes Dolby Atmos and 15 speakers. Additional interior updates feature 64-color ambient lighting, two new upholstery colors (Beech Brown and Cherry Red), and trim options like Natural Grain Birch Wood and High-Gloss Silver Metallic.

Under the hood is an evolution of the current setup, with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with a 48-volt hybrid system. The integrated starter-generator adds 23 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque at lower speeds, while an electric auxiliary compressor reduces turbo lag. The overall engine output remains unchanged at 255 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque, but there’s now a boost function that brings an extra 27 hp for 20 seconds.
Mercedes also says the suspension has been retuned to make the C-Class more agile, with tweaks to the adjustable dampers to minimize body movements. The sideview mirrors have been redesigned to reduce wind noise, among other measures that aim to make the cabin quieter. The C-Class also gains the augmented reality head-up display from the S-Class.
The virtual assistant has been upgraded with artificial intelligence, allowing it to carry complex conversations, Mercedes claims.
